Her feature debut came in National Lampoon’s Loaded Weapon I ”(1993) and Richards was also in the ensemble of Gregg Araki’s Nowhere ”(1997) which tanked. break would come in 1997 in the form of an bug-invasion in the cult sci-fi movie Starship Troopers. She appeared as Carmen Ibanez opposite Casper Van Dien and Dina Meyerrole as the pilot of the future. A role that caught the attention of movie fans everywhere and solidified her as an movie actress.

She followed Starship Troopers with John McNaughton?’s Wild Things (1998) which was the movie that caught everyones eye as she was to sultry and to sexy to be ignored especially in the threesome scene, co-starring Kevin Bacon, Neve Campbell and Matt Dillon. Her rising star status was confirmed when on the heels of completing the beauty contest spoof Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999), Richards was selected to be the next Bond girl no doubt because of her role in Wild Things, role playing as a munitions expert in The World Is Not Enough (also 1999).

In 2001, Denise starred in more forgettable movies: Valentine and Good Advice (which is where she met her future husband Charlie Sheen, whom she married the following year in June). Then, in 2002, after the movie Empire, co-starring John Leguizamo, flopped at the box office, Denise starred in the surprise hit comedy of the year, Undercover Brother.

Also in 2002, Denise teamed up with talented friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck for the movie The Third Wheel and also starred in You Stupid Man.

In 2003, Denise moved on to the romantic comedy Love Actually, alongside Keira Knightley and Hugh Grant, followed by the horror-flick comedy Scary Movie 3.

In March 2004, Denise Richards and her husband Charlie Sheen welcomed their daughter, Sam, into the world. Less than a year after giving birth, Denise was in top form, as she proved in December 2004’s Playboy.
